Custom saw systems are an efficient way to remove heavy aluminum gating, sprues, and perform facing on the casting's surface. Our 30 HP saw with a standard spindle speed of 1765 RPM is fast and flexible for all types of aluminum castings, including cylinder heads, intake manifolds, and water pumps. For increased performance, our standard saw can be easily upgraded to a servo foundry saw with an integral servo-drive cut axis.

Aluminum Cut-off Saw Features

• Blade sizes from 14" to 26" diameter
• Carbide tipped blades remove gates, risers, and flash in a single plane
• Aluminum sawing capabilities of up to 6" diameter sections
• Maximum spindle speed of 3100 RPM
• Heavy duty Setco spindle with timing belt drive balanced at 5000 RPM
• Standard soft-start/soft-stop integral
• Completely finish castings by adding deburring spindles
• Standard controls designed to optimize safety in a robotic cell
• Compatible with multiple robot brands
• When used with an ABB 4400 or 6600, the casting gripper is utilized as a part fixture for accurate cuts

Servo Foundry Saw Features

• Modular system easily integrates with the Cut-off Saw
• Robotically loaded/unloaded carriage carries parts through the saw-cut
• Belt-drive servo linear actuator with stroke lengths up to 72"
• External profile rail guides add rigid support through the cut
• Simple standard setup procedures allow quick and accurate setup
• Controls designed to optimize safety in a robotic cell
• Touch-screen interface for adjustment of cut rates & cut parameters
• Pneumatic or hydraulic hold-downs implemented for fixtures
• Capable of high flatness tolerances, eliminating secondary machining
• In-house integration with ABB 6400R or 4400 Foundry version robots
• Compatible with multiple robot brands
• Three degrees of alignment allow the cut stroke to be setup parallel to the blade within thousandths of an inch per foot
• Custom fixture design for specific parts attaches to the standard carriage interface
